The BZ Hockey 3v3 League is a fun, fast-paced developmental league designed for young players to improve their skills in a competitive but enjoyable environment. This league focuses on puck touches, decision-making, and game awareness in a small-ice setting.

League Format
  • 3 v 3 + goalies
  • Teams are reshuffled every week
  • Games are played on small ice
  • One-hour sessions each week
  • No practices, games only

Game Format
* 3 vs 3 format
* Two teams per session
* Each team has 6 skaters and 1 goalie
* 3 skaters + goalie on the ice
* One referee controls all play

Ice Time Structure (Per Group)
* One full hour per age group
* Two games per hour
* Each game consists of 3 periods x 8 minutes (running time) TIME MAY BE ADJUST BY SCOREKEEPER
* Line changes every 2 minutes on the referee’s whistle

General Rules
* No offsides
* No icing
* After every goal: face-off at center ice
* If the goalie freezes the puck: Opposing team backs up to the red line, and the goalie leaves the puck for his teammates
* All stoppages are controlled by the referee

Penalties = Penalty Shot
There are no timed penalties.
Any rule violation results in an immediate penalty shot.

Penalty Shot Procedure
1. All players except the shooter line up on the goal line
2. The shooter starts with the puck at center ice
3. On the whistle, the shooter and all other players start skating at the same time
4. Defending players may chase and defend once play begins

After the shot:
* Goal scored → face-off at center ice
* Goalie freezes the puck → Opposing team backs up to the red line, and the goalie leaves the puck for his teammates
* Rebound / loose puck → play continues immediately

Goalies
* Two goalies per group
* Goalies rotate equally between teams
* Goalies switch teams between games

Discipline
* No arguing with the referee
* Repeated violations may result in sitting out the next shift
* Referee explanations are instructional, not punitive
